Description

We’re looking for an experienced and motivated 2IC to help lead the day-to-day running of our 600-cow dairy farm north of Oamaru. With a herringbone shed featuring auto cup removers and K-line irrigation, you’ll have plenty of variety. We’re preparing to step back from farm management, so there’s potential for the right person to grow into a sharemilking role. The role starts in February. Requirements: - At least 5 years’ experience in dairy farming - Skilled tractor operator and competent in operating farm machinery - Strong understanding of cowshed operations and milking systems - Experience with K-line or similar irrigation systems - Leadership ability and initiative to take on additional responsibility Responsibilities: - Support daily operations, including milking 600 cows and stock management - Run the cowshed and ensure efficient, hygienic milk harvesting - Operate, maintain, and set up K-line irrigation - Assist in coordinating workflows and supervising other team members - Contribute to improving farm processes and staff training Please contact us to discuss this opportunity further.
