Job Summary: Cowland Ltd is seeking a reliable and motivated Dairy Herd Manager to lead operations on a well-established, high-performing dairy farm in Ashburton. The role focuses on managing the milking of approximately 750 cows through a 50-bale rotary and supporting daily farm activities including animal health and pasture management, working closely with the Farm Manager and the team. Key Responsibilities: - Manage milking operations for around 750 cows using a 50-bale rotary system. - Oversee animal health programs and pasture management to maintain herd performance. - Support and coordinate day-to-day farm operations in collaboration with the Farm Manager. - Ensure all farm activities maintain high standards of animal welfare and productivity. - Lead and participate in a team environment, promoting effective work practices. About You: - Demonstrated dairy farming experience at Herd Manager level or equivalent. - Strong work ethic, reliability, and commitment to quality. - Good knowledge of animal health and welfare practices. - Ability to work well within a team and show initiative. - Positive attitude and eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
