Description
Ideal for a Lincoln Uni student We are seeking a reliable and dependable person to join our team in March on a weekend farm support role on a 134 ha support block near Rolleston/Burnham. The position involves caring for 600 R2 heifers and 400 R1s, helping manage daily farm operations every second weekend on a 3:11 roster (Friday, Saturday, Sunday), with additional coverage during annual leave and potential for extra shifts. You'll play an important role in supporting the growth and welfare of young stock, contributing to the smooth running of the farm, and working as an essential part of our team. Requirements: - Reliability and commitment to weekend shifts (every second weekend starting in March) - Experience with raising heifers or young stock - Skills in pasture, grazing, and feed management - Tractor driving experience (advantageous) - Animal health and wellbeing knowledge - Some irrigation knowledge (advantageous) Responsibilities: - Carry out daily farm operations during rostered weekends and cover annual leave - Manage and monitor young stock and animal health - Assist with pasture allocation, feeding, and grazing management - Operate farm tractors and assist with machinery tasks - Support general maintenance and animal wellbeing tasks as needed Please contact us to discuss this opportunity further.
