Dairy Assistant (0.5 FTE – 3 days per week) Betapahu Farms | Edendale, Southland Fortuna Group is seeking expressions of interest for a .5 FTE (3days a week) Dairy Assistant to join the team at Betapahu Farm in Southland. This role is well suited to someone with a strong work ethic who is keen to build skills and grow a long-term career in dairy farming. About the Farm: Betapahu Farms is a dairy farm operation based near Edendale, Southland. The 121 hectares are predominantly flat and made up of Waikoikoi and Edendale soils. The cool temperate climate of Southland provides reliable summer rainfall and an average annual rainfall of approximately 1,113mm. Betapahu Farms is home to 402 dairy cows, which walk to a centralised milking shed. The operation maintains high standards of production, plant, and equipment, with a strong focus on consistency and performance. Betapahu Farms has a proud history of recognition across the Fortuna Group awards programme, including: • Keep Me Safe Award and FGL Supreme Farm Award (2015) • Farm Pride Award and Fortuna Core Values Award (2016) • Supreme Farm Award (2019) About the Role: As a Dairy Assistant, you will support the day-to-day running of the farm, including milking, animal care, and general farm duties. We are looking for someone who: • Is reliable, motivated, and keen to learn • Works well in a team environment • Takes pride in animal welfare and farm presentation • Operates safely and follows farm systems • Is interested in developing a long-term dairy career • Previous dairy experience is an advantage but not essential About Fortuna Group: Founded in 2012 by David and Kay Dodunski, Fortuna Group has grown into one of the lower South Island’s most progressive dairy businesses.
