

We are seeking a reliable, motivated full time Farm Worker to join our mixed sheep, beef, cropping and trading operation located in the Foothills near Darfield, Central Canterbury. The property is 550 hectares, made up of a mix of flat and hill country, offering a varied and engaging role across multiple farming systems. This position suits someone who enjoys hands on work, takes pride in doing a job properly, and can adapt to changing conditions and priorities. About the Role: This position involves a wide range of farm tasks, including: • Sheep and beef stock work (mustering, animal health, yard work) • Tractor and machinery operation (cultivation, drilling, spraying support, feeding out) • Cropping tasks across the season • General farm maintenance (fencing, water systems, repairs) • Supporting trading stock movements and day to day operations • Seasonal work depending on workload and weather What We’re Looking For • Experience with sheep and beef stock • Good stock sense and calm, confident handling • Competent tractor and machinery skills • Working dogs would be beneficial • Experience on hill country is an advantage • Ability to handle change and adapt to shifting priorities, weather, and seasonal demands • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team • Physically fit, practical, and safety minded • Honest, reliable, and willing to learn new skills What We Offer • Full time, stable employment • Competitive pay based on experience • Variety across livestock, cropping, and trading • On farm accommodation available • Supportive, down-to-earth working environment • Training and development opportunities Hours 40–50 hours per week, with seasonal variation.
