We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Herd Manager to join our high-performing dairy team in Ikamatua, Grey Valley, West Coast, starting 1st June 2026. You will work with 630 predominantly Friesian cows, milked using a 54 bail rotary shed with ACRs, Protrack, in-shed feeding, Datamar Collars, and irrigated paddocks. Requirements: - 2–3 seasons of experience working on dairy farms - Competency with tractor operation, especially for fertiliser spreading - Strong work ethic and positive attitude - Excellent communication and time management skills - Commitment to developing skills and learning - Legally entitled to work in New Zealand - Understanding of animal health and welfare monitoring Responsibilities: - Oversee herd health, including regular monitoring and reporting - Operate and maintain farm machinery and technology (rotary shed, ACRs, Protrack, Datamar Collars) - Manage fertiliser spreading and assist with feed management - Support efficient daily milk harvesting and shed routines - Assist with record keeping and reporting as needed - Observe and report on animal health and welfare Roster is 6/1 over calving then 6/2 until January then will be 5/2 Remuneration is competitive and will be relevant to experience and abilities.
