V94 YA06 240-Cow Spring Calving Herd An exciting opportunity for agricultural students or recent graduates to gain hands-on experience on a progressive, family-run dairy farm in the scenic southwest of Ireland. Position Available from: 20th January to 20th May 2026 About the Farm: Kiltemplan Farm operates a pasture-based system with winter housing. Each spring, we calve 240 cows and rear all our own replacement stock and some beef animals. Role Overview: Seeking an enthusiastic, motivated individual to assist during busy spring calving season. Past interns from Lincoln University, NZ, have excelled and enjoyed this role. We have had 3 Students to date. Key Responsibilities: • Assist with Milking and day to day duties. • Spring calf rearing (no experience necessary as training will be given). • Shed feeding, bedding, and machinery operation (e.g., JCB loader) Facilities & Equipment: • Automatic drafting, feeding systems, and dump line • Milking Shed (New - 24/48 unit parlour with ACRs) What We Offer: • Shared accommodation with separate bedroom / Meals on Farm on days of work. • Use of a car during days off (ideal for exploring Ireland-full driving license required) • Flexible roster (typically 6 days on, 2 off) • Full integration into farm operations and team Candidate Profile: • Energetic and reliable • Passionate about dairy farming and animal welfare • Willing to learn and adapt to a new working environment This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable international dairy experience while exploring a new country on a farm that is familiar to hosting international students.
