Description

We're seeking a skilled and reliable Orchard Sprayer Driver to join our team. This is a fixed term role from to help in the peak spraying period. You will be responsible for efficiently and safely operating state of the art orchard sprayers to ensure the optimal health and productivity of our apple orchard. There are two orchard sprayers, one is permanent, so a good level of support within the team. Responsibilities: Operate and maintain orchard sprayers to apply crop protection products as directed by orchard management. Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and others. Monitor and report equipment malfunctions or issues promptly to facilitate timely maintenance. Collaborate with orchard management to plan and execute spray schedules in accordance with crop needs. Maintain accurate records of spraying activities, including types and amounts of chemicals used. Operate other orchard equipment such as mowers and platforms when required. Requirements: Experience as a sprayer operator in an orchard or similar agricultural setting preferred but training will be provided. Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn and follow established procedures. Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. Experience with agricultural machinery and machinery maintenance. Some knowledge of pesticide application regulations and safety procedures preferred but training will be provided. Ability to work independently and follow instructions meticulously. Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Growsafe handling certificate advantageous but not required. Training will be provided for the right candidate. Valid driver's license and a clean driving record. Valid work visa essential. This is a fixed term role could work as a part-time for the right person.
