Relief Milker for 620 Cows on Timaru Farm, NZ
Description
Job Summary: We require a relief milker for 3 mornings a week. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays mornings for our 620 Dairy cow farm. 10kms from Washdyke and Temuka. The Relief Milker position at Hooper Trustees Ltd involves assisting with the milking of a 620-cow herd using a 40-aside herringbone shed on a 200-hectare farm. Working on a fixed term contract basis throughout the milking season, the role supports the farm’s production and profit goals while maintaining high standards of animal care and farm asset management. There is no accommodation with this role. Key Responsibilities: - Perform efficient and quiet milking of cows in the herringbone shed - Clean and maintain the milking shed and yard areas - Handle all animals with respect and attentiveness - Maintain and care for farm machinery and property - Report directly to the owner, Kevin O’Kane About You: - Drive in position so must have own vehicle and a clean licence. - Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic - Honest and attentive to detail in all tasks - Experienced in dairy milking operations and animal welfare - Respectful towards animals and farm assets
