Fixed Term Farm Assistant – Winter Support (Rent A Bull | Fortuna Group) Rent A Bull, part of Fortuna Group, is looking for a capable and experienced farm assistant to support our team over the winter period. This is a short-term role based at Five Rivers, Northern Southland, on a 260ha flat and 900ha hill country bull and sheep operation. Dates: From Monday 30 June to at least 10 July Potential to extend through to 17 July for the right applicant About the role: You’ll be assisting with day-to-day wintering operations, with a key focus on stock management and feeding. There will be a 7-day period of sole charge, so confidence and experience are essential. Key responsibilities: Moving winter breaks (fodder beet and swedes) Feeding baleage in feeders Ensuring bulls are well fed and have consistent access to water Operating tractors in crop paddocks General stock care and monitoring What we’re looking for: Proven experience with winter break feeding systems Confident tractor operator in crop conditions Strong problem-solving ability and stock sense Ability to work independently (including sole charge period) Reliable and practical approach to farm work What’s on offer: Short-term opportunity with potential extension Hands-on experience within a well-run operation Basic on-farm accommodation provided If you’re keen for a solid block of work over winter and have the experience to hit the ground running, we’d love to hear from you.
