Job Summary: The Senior Dairy / Farm Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily operations of the dairy farm with a focus on milking, animal care, and general farm tasks. This position requires an experienced, hands-on individual capable of working independently while collaborating effectively with the farm team under the Farm Manager’s guidance. Key Responsibilities: - Perform milking duties in line with farm procedures and milk quality standards - Monitor and report on animal health and wellbeing, assisting with feeding and stock handling - Support daily farm operations including fencing, yard work, shed hygiene, and maintenance - Assist with seasonal activities such as calving, mating, and dry-off processes - Operate farm machinery safely and maintain clean, organized work areas - Follow health and safety protocols, identify hazards, and ensure compliance with biosecurity and animal welfare standards - Communicate effectively with the Farm Manager and contribute to a positive team environment, assisting less experienced staff when needed About You: - Experienced in dairy farm work with strong competence in milking routines and general farm duties - Able to work independently, manage time efficiently, and reliably follow farm systems - Practical, safety conscious, and committed to upholding animal welfare and farm standards - Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-focused approach - Respectful of animals, equipment, and coworkers with a willingness to learn and take responsibility
