Senior Farm Assistant

About:
1000 cows over 250ha System 2 farm , milking through a 44 bail rotary. Great established long term team. 20 minutes from Rotorua

Duties and Responsibilities:

•  Assist with daily milking operations
• Help manage animal health and welfare, including calving support and basic treatments
• Setting up break fences and general stock movements
• Maintain shed hygiene – cleaning down the plant, vat, and milking equipment
• Support calf rearing as required
• Assist with general farm duties including fencing, water checks, effluent and machinery operation
• Follow health and safety protocols and maintain compliance standard.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

•  A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Previous experience in dairy farming is essential
• Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weather
• Committed to animal welfare and farm safety
• Keen to grow your skills and take on more responsibility over time

Specific Requirements:

•  Honest, reliable, has great communication skills and positive mindset.
• Love of animals
• Experience on a Dairy Farm is essential.
• Current drivers license
• Be a NZ citizen or Resident
