Spring Farm Assistant - Dairy Farm
Description
We're looking for a Spring Farm Assistant to help our team on a 160-cow dairy farm located in Matapu, South Taranaki during the busy calving season (July–October). You'll support daily operational tasks such as calf feeding, milking, animal health monitoring, and effluent management. This fixed-term, drive-in role averages up to 6 hours per day, 6 days a week at its peak, reducing as the season progresses. Accommodation is not provided. Requirements: - Willingness to work with livestock, especially young calves - Basic awareness of milking hygiene and animal health - Ability to travel to and from the farm daily (no accommodation provided) - must have a drivers licence - An ability to work in New Zealand without any other visa requirements (this role is not suitable to sponsor a visa) Responsibilities: - Assist with calf feeding and daily milking routines - Monitor animal health and report concerns - Support effluent management and general farm maintenance - Follow health and safety practices on farm Your hourly rate will be based on experience and is negotiable.
