




Stock Manager - West Otago This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated person who wants to progress in the sheep and beef sector. We are looking for someone with all the skills required to work unsupervised on our rolling hill property in the beautiful West Otago. We operate an intensive system that includes two sheep and a cattle studs. On farm sales are held each year. The position expectations are: - Permanent, full time position - High level of stockmanship especially on rolling to hill country - Ability to work unsupervised is essential - Ability to problem solve and use initiative - Excellent communication skills - Ensure the health and well being of stock at all times - Ability to operate machinery on hill country - Have a current drivers license - Have at least 2 fully trained dogs Rolls and responsibilities: - Assisting with day to day and seasonal planning aswell as feed budgets - Animal health activities (including but not limited to: crutching, drenching, vaccinating, weaning, dipping, calf cutting, de-horning and tailing) - Repairs and maintenance - Lambing & calving beat - Recording data of Stud animals - Winter break fencing and feeding out - Cultivation including topping, mowing and preparation of hay - Pasture management including weed eradication - Monitor stock condition and carry out animal health treatments - Loading stock - Adhering to Health & Safety requirements Email your queries and applications to: susieburrows@gmail.com.
