Summer Farm Hand - Taranaki
Description
We are seeking a summer farm hand to join our 200-cow, 75ha dairy operation just 10 minutes from New Plymouth. The farm uses Halter collars and features a well-set-up 24-aside herringbone shed for one-person operation. This hands-on role involves working daily alongside the farmer, and eventually covering sole charge when required. It’s an ideal opportunity for a student or traveller looking for summer work, with training provided if needed. Requirements: - Experience operating tractors and motorbikes (desired) - Stock handling and milking experience (favourable) - Willingness to learn and follow instructions - Physical fitness for outdoor farm work Responsibilities: - Milking cows and supporting milk harvesting routines - Handling and caring for calves - Weed spraying and general farm upkeep - Fencing repairs and maintenance - Tractor operation and assisting with pasture work Message me if you're interested.
