About Samantha Fry

Hey! I’m a second-year Ag Sci student at Lincoln wanting to gain further practical work experience over the coming summer months. A bit about me, I’m from Christchurch myself, but have family who farm around the Rakaia Gorge and Banks Peninsula, which is how I gained exposure to the Ag industry. After helping out my cousin on farm, who went to Lincoln previously and is now working as a Shepherd, I absolutely loved it and decided it’s something I’d love to pursue in the future. I worked on a dairy farm in Southland last year and had such a great experience, which gave me a range of knowledge in tasks such as handling livestock, milking, break fencing, as well as operating quadbikes and basic tractor skills. I learned so much in just three months there and am especially excited to undertake my sheep and beef placement, as that is more where I see myself working in the future.
