Tom Matteucci

In this role I worked on a 650 cow, 160Ha dairy farm near Temuka, Canterbury. Within this role I gained important experience around milking and shed maintenance, as well as other skills such as animal health, yard work, moving stock, weed spraying, setting up break fences, lawnmowing and feeding calves. I really enjoyed this role and look forward to potentially working on dairy farms in the future.

This was a part-time job over the past few summers on a 1300Ha sheep and beef finishing farm North-West of Auckland. In this role I learnt basic skills such as weed spraying/wiping, some yard work, removing fence batons, thistle grubbing, moving stock, etc. This role helped me understand the different components that lead to a successful, efficient and sustainable sheep and beef farm.
