Ag Assist Launches Long-Term Work Listings to Support the NZ Farming Sector

At Ag Assist, we’re committed to providing practical solutions that meet the unique needs of New Zealand’s farming and agriculture sector. We know that running a farming business comes with plenty of challenges — from unpredictable weather and market fluctuations to ongoing staffing demands. That’s why we continue to innovate and adapt, giving farming businesses and rural professionals the tools they need to succeed.

Since day one, Ag Assist has helped connect farming businesses with local people for casual, seasonal, and urgent jobs. But we’ve heard from the industry that there’s also a strong demand for long-term, fixed-term, and seasonal positions.

Introducing Long-Term Job Listings on Ag Assist

With the 2024/25 season fast approaching, we’re excited to launch a new feature on the platform: the ability to post and find long-term work opportunities. This feature has been designed to help farmers, rural businesses, and service providers plan ahead and manage seasonal fluctuations more easily.

And the best part? There’s no additional cost

“Farmers know better than anyone that the only constant in farming is change,” says Tony Dodunski, CEO of Ag Assist. “By expanding the platform to include long-term work options, we’re making it easier for farmers to find the right people — whether that’s a university student home for the holidays or someone to help through peak seasons like calving or lambing.”

Simple, Fast, and Direct Connections

One of the features that sets Ag Assist apart from traditional job boards or recruitment services is how easy it is to connect:

  • Browse profiles (which act as up-to-date CVs)
  • Message directly on the platform
  • View ratings and previous feedback to help make better decisions
  • Farmers can simply log in to the Ag Assist platform, go to the ‘Post Long-Term Jobs’ tab, and enter the details. Workers and service providers can do the same via the ‘Post Long-Term Work’ tab.

    Growing Our Community Together

Behind the scenes, we’re continuing to expand the platform and grow the community. While it may take time for more workers and businesses to join, every new listing and every connection helps build momentum.

“We’re here to support the sector and help more people find opportunities on the land,” says Tony. “The more farmers, service providers, and workers that get on board, the stronger this platform becomes for everyone.”
