I've worked as a graphic designer for 13 years, and I'm currently witnessing AI gradually take over the field. I've made the decision to shift careers as a result. I participated in and finished the Dairy Training Program in Sagay City. I was not compensated to perform the daily activities on the farm because this program is voluntary in nature. I learned how to raise and manage calves during my three-month training. I assisted weaning calves in consuming bottled milk. I also learnt how to properly, hygienically, and conventionally milk cows. This is crucial to ensuring milk is safe to drink and of high quality. Another skill I learned was herd and individual animal health management. Daily, I also monitor the well-being of the cows I manage. If there are cows that need medical attention, I report it to any available supervisor and we proceed with the necessary actions needed. Through this, I also got to learn how to handle and restrain calves and adult cows. This is important during milking and/or administering their medicines. I also got to familiarize myself with the farm tools, equipment, and facilities. To sum it all up, I was able to learn the general dairy farm operations.
